Powerboat level 2 is the RYA’s most popular course . It caters for both novices and those that like to brush up their skills and obtain RYA Powerboat Level 2 in Spain . Maximum 3 on any course .

Location and Dates: Club Nautico Altea : RYA PB2 is ran : Tuesday Wednesday , Thursday Friday , Saturday Sunday : 10 am to 6 pm . We’re flexible on dates, call to discus. Cost is 400 euros per person . Open All Year.
Powerboat Level 2 : Is a two-day entry level course , provides you with the skills and knowledge to drive a powerboat . There is no exam , continual assessment . We focus on boat handling skills : leaving and coming along side , picking up a mooring bouy , use of anchor , man overboard recovery , Collision regulations, General seamanship and more.
Course Prerequisite & Age : No prior knowledge is required . From 12 years old , under 18 accompanied with guardian on same course .
What to bring with you : Waterproofs & some warm clothes , it can get chilly on the water , bottled water , sun hat and sun cream . 2 passport sized photos of you. Photo Identification , can be a photograph on your phone . Suitable foot ware NO FLIP FLOPS .
You will be given : RYA Start powerboating R-G48 .
What you leave with after successful completion: Powerboat level 2 photo certificate . Plus the ability to helm a powerboat up to 10 meters . An application form to apply to the RYA for your ICC : International Certificate for Operators of Pleasure Craft up to 10 meters , should you meet criteria to be issued with a UK ICC .
Course Content : Clothing / Life Jackets . Safety . Meteorology and interpretation of . Tidal streams and Curve . Launching and Recovery. Charts pilotage and passage planning. The Buoyage system.Limitations of GPS. Documents to be kept on Board . IRPCS: collision regulations. Different hull and drive types. Trailers and slipways.
Slow speed maneuver’s . Steering a course. Securing to a mooring buoy, leaving and coming alongside . Turning in a confined Space. Man overboard recovery. Anchoring . Planning speed maneuvers and slowing down.
Day 1 : Predominantly based around the Port of CN Altea , learning new boat handling skills plus theory . Day 2 : More new skills and reinforcement of day 1 . We carry out a small expedition visiting local ports , points of interest within our training area . Putting into practice your passage planning skills .
